Caterham

We at Montare used our extensive experience in working with Housing Associations to improve an existing development of accessible homes. The existing block of apartments was in need of improvement and in particular a new lift.


The Housing Association had previously tried and failed to obtain planning for a small number of houses to the rear of the development, which when sold would  provide funds to undertake the improvement works to the existing building.


An agreement to purchase the site for new development as well as providing the much needed lift was agreed.


A planning application was formulated to reflect the planning inspector’s comments and the objections of the public. Thanks to a reduction in size and improvements in suitability, transport access and materiality, the site was approved for planning.


Montare’s approach in providing an extra level of detail in the planning application together with a willingness to invest in the site prior to approval was key to a successful outcome.
